Closing TV Ad Released - "Let's Clean Up Montgomery"
10/26/2010
Upon release of his final television advertisement, Paul Sanford released the following statement:
"It's high time we clean up Montgomery. If we have been taught anything over the past few weeks, it's that the status quo in Montgomery must be challenged by a new breed of lawmakers - ones with a vision for honest, open state government and a clear path to get there.
"You can't fix the problem is you've been a part of the problem. Sending the same people to Montgomery is not the answer.
"When I was offered $250,000 from a gaming lobbyist during my special election campaign last summer, I contacted the FBI when the investigation came to light. People have called me courageous for that, but I believe it was my duty to come forward and expose corruption. We need people in government service who are unafraid to challenge the status quo - who put people above power and politics."
Paul Sanford was elected to the Alabama Senate representing District 7 in a special election in June 2009. He has served for only one year in Montgomery where he is recognized as a no-nonsense state senator. He and his wife Danielle own and operate "little Paul's Barbecue" in Huntsville and have two children, Chase and Ryan.
