Paul Sanford Officially Sworn In Today as State Senator

Paul Sanford, Republican victor in the Alabama State Senate District 7 election yesterday, was sworn in today in Huntsville as the newest member of the Alabama Legislature. At 3:20pm, Judge Dennis E. Odell administered the oath of office to now Senator Paul Sanford. The swearing in took place in Judge Odell’s chambers at the Madison County Courthouse where Paul’s family and a few close friends were in attendance.
"Since my decision to run for public office last February I have been going non-stop talking to the people of this District – something which I will continue doing" said Senator Sanford. "Today’s swearing in ceremony is the pinnacle of the efforts of everyone involved with the campaign and the voters who all made this possible," he added.
"I want to thank my wife, Danielle, and children, Chase and Ryan, for the sacrifices they have made over the past months," Sanford said. He continued, "Without them I would not be standing here today; they are my biggest encouragers."
Senator Paul Sanford and his wife own and operate "little Paul’s Barbecue" on Madison Street in Huntsville. The couple has a son, Chase, and a daughter, Ryan. The final results from Tuesday’s elections were 11,984 (57.36%) for Paul Sanford and 8,872 (42.47%) for Rep. Laura Hall.
