Paul Sanford Expresses Gratitude for Tuesday’s Win

Paul Sanford, Republican nominee for the Alabama Senate District 7 in the June 9th special election, today thanked his supporters for his victory Tuesday and praised his runoff opponent Sam Givhan for running a good campaign.
"For all who embraced our cause and voted for me Tuesday, I offer my thanks and gratitude," said Mr. Sanford. "This campaign is my first ever for public office, and I have met some great folks along the way—folks who want to bring real reform to state government," he added.
The final tally for the Republican runoff was Paul Sanford, 2,961 votes (59.6%), Sam Givhan 2,005 votes (40.4%). "Sam Givhan was, is and will continue to be my good friend. He was a formidable opponent, and I wish to thank him and his team for running a positive campaign," Mr. Sanford said.
Paul Sanford will face Democrat State Representative Laura Hall in the June 9th special general election. Mr. Sanford and his wife Danielle own and operate "little Paul’s Barbecue" in Huntsville. They have a son, Chase, and a daughter, Ryan.
