02/24/2009
Republican State Senate candidate Paul Sanford said today he will reach his goal of personally knocking on 3,000 doors in District 7 this Wednesday. In addition to his efforts, campaign volunteers are canvassing neighborhoods with the goal of reaching 8,750 households by Saturday.
"I don’t have the luxury of a big campaign war chest, so I am taking my message directly to the people in District 7," Sanford said Monday. "I’ve certainly learned what’s on the minds of voters by personally meeting them and listening to their concerns," he added. "And that’s what I intend to do once elected because not all good ideas originate in Montgomery," Sanford went on to say.
Last Friday evening, Dennis and Tammy Olive hosted a fundraising reception in their home in Huntsville for Mr. Sanford. "Thanks to the generosity of everyday citizens who want good government, I have been able to run a respectable, yet bare-bones campaign," Sanford stated. "I’m not the beneficiary of special interest money, and that’s fine with me," he said.
The primary election to replace Parker Griffith will be held Tuesday, March 3rd.
Paul Sanford and his wife Danielle own and operate a restaurant in Huntsville, and they have two children.
