Statement by Paul Sanford Regarding Candidates for the March 3rd Special Election Primary

"Today is a great day for the Republican Party in Madison County and for Alabama’s Seventh Senate District. It appears we have a great slate of men and women running for Congressman Parker Griffith’s vacated seat. The number of Republicans qualifying shows the Party’s viability in this area of the state.

"I am excited about what promises to be a spirited and issues-based race. With all the negative news coming from Montgomery regarding the budget and spending, it’s time the Legislature put partisan bickering aside to take care of its primary duty – responsible fiscal management of the taxpayers’ dollars.

"I wish each and every candidate on both sides of the aisle the best of luck on March 3rd."
